an animals, turtles, snakes, salt water, fresh water fish, a brown colored raccoon. he wasn't taking care of all 40 of the animals proplerly. >> they were exotic species and didn't have their basic needs met. >> reporter: they first went to taylor's house back in the summer. he gave up 10 animals then and promised to make changes in the way he cared for them. at the time he acquired more animals and the conditions were just as bad. taylor said he was caring properly for all of his animals. >> it really, really upsets me because if they didn't have the proper food and water, like my personal pets, for example, wouldn't they be unhealthy? wouldn't they be underweight? wouldn't they show signs of neglect. whereas the rescue animals, so, of course, these animals, some are going to be emaciated or some will be -- are not going to be up to the perfect health, but that's how i got them. >> how anne arundel is giving some of the exotic animals to rescue groups and said he who never do anything to hurt a creature. >> i would give up anything to have my dogs, birds back. they are the highest priemp

she may have been bitten by a brown recluse. >> all i know is they are the worst kind. >> they are small. you can't detect them. >> some of the images from the story will be difficult to look at. she was put on antibiotics. instead of getting better, it got worse. having to undergo 20 surgeries. why? after she was bitten the first time, at home recovering and they believe she was bitten again. imagine the odds. >> i wouldn't go back to that house? >> what does the recluse bite do? >> it basically eats your muscles. they had to go in, dig out all that necrotic tissue that died. they put in skin grafts. it didn't take. the third time it took. doctors discovered she had an autoimmune disease, that's why it wasn't taking the first two times. >> also maybe more powerful on her system. >> she said the segd one was worse than the first one. it was down to bone. they told her she might lose her leg. she didn't. not only did they save her leg but in the midst of all this she took the bar exam and passed. this prompted her to change her career choice. she's goalkeeper back to sc
